Please use a version 1.2.1 or later of the firmware update tool for Windows.

(note1) If you are updating the firmware on a unit that currently has a firmware version older than A06.02 your User Authentication (Access Control) information saved in the MFP will be reset to the default settings.  
If you had previously changed any of the PIN, User ID, or User Name settings from the default settings you will have to set the information again for all users after updating the MFP to the new firmware revision.

(note2) If you are updating the firmware on a unit that currently has a firmware version older than A07.48,your setting time of Power Save and Sleep will be reset to the default one. Then please set them again.(for MC853/ES8453)

(note3) If you update the firmware on a unit that currently has a firmware version older than A07.82, please update the scanner driver to following version.
For Windows : Ver 1.2.3
For Linux : Ver 1.7.0
If you do not update the scanner driver, the error message is displayed at the time of scanning.

(note4) In Firmware Ver 07.87, a log management function has been added to the Web page administrator menu to enhance privacy management.

  The detail phenomenons are as follows.
  (1) The output images will be distorted inappropriately and then give incorrect results in fact though the sequence of procedures will be completed correctly if it is a portrait document.
  (2) The sequence of procedures will be not completed and then it gets back to the standby state to wait for next event again if it is the landscape documents which has less than 5 pages.
  (3) The sequence of procedures will be not completed and then hold Scanning status if it is the landscape documents which has more than 6 pages.

6. Fixed a problem of Fax transmission which cannot get correct results if the document has more than 2 pages when the File Format menu setting(Admin Setup > Scanner Setup > Default Setting) is Single-Tiff or Single-PDF and moreover the Continuous Scan menu setting is ON.
  The detail phenomenons are as follows.the
  (1) Preview button and Start Transmission button on the preview screen does not work remains grayed out when the Preview menu setting is ON.
  (2) Scanning status will hold when the Continuous Scan menu setting is ON.

7. Fixed a problem of Internet Fax/Fax Server function that does not work even if the Resolution menu setting is changed when the Continuous Scan menu setting is ON.
8. Fixed a problem that does not work even the Edge Erase menu setting in the Fax function is changed from ON to OFF when the Edge Erase menu setting(Admin Setup > Fax Setup > Default Settings) is ON.
9. Fixed a problem of Fax/Internet Fax/Fax Server function that turns the scan images upside down when a user tried doing again with changing the document orientation(portrait/landscape) after the [Please set next document] screen is displayed.
